A method of separating zirconium and hafnium according to the present invention comprises: (a) a step of preparing a base solution containing zirconium, hafnium, and sulfuric acid; (b) a step of mixing an organic phase solution containing a mixed extractant with the base solution to manufacture an extract solution; (c) a step of stirring the extract solution in a reactor to extract hafnium from the base solution to the organic phase solution; and (d) a step of separating the extract solution into a purified solution which is the base solution from which hafnium is removed and the organic phase solution to which hafnium is added. The mixed extractant used in the method of separating zirconium and hafnium includes an acidic extractant and an ether-based compound. If the method of separating zirconium and hafnium is performed using the mixed extractant, a separation coefficient can be increased by two folds or more compared with a conventional separation method, and an amount of the extractant used can be reduced to more economically separate and collect zirconium.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
