The present invention relates to a total organic carbon measuring apparatus and a method for measuring the total organic carbon by using the same wherein error, which may occur during a process for measuring a fixed amount of the total organic carbon amount included in a sample water, can be minimized. More particularly, according to the present invention, accuracy of quantitative analysis on the total organic carbon amount of the sample water to be analyzed can be increased by measuring the concentration of carbon dioxide, generated after oxidizing the total organic carbon by using UV, and then calculating the total amount of generated carbon dioxide from the concentration. According to an existing calculation method, the total organic carbon amount is calculated by measuring an accumulation amount of the concentration of carbon dioxide. In the present invention, the existing method is improved to output a result value of the total amount of generated carbon dioxide by adding a flow rate of transferred gas to the concentration of carbon dioxide. Therefore, error resulting from change of the flow rate does not occur and thus the total organic carbon amount in the sample water can be accurately measured.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
