An alternate-hibernation battery management and control method for a large electric vehicle power structure is provided. The power structure includes a vehicle computer having a sorting controller, a plurality of variable structure series battery boxes connected in parallel, and a driving device. Each variable structure series battery box includes a plurality of battery modules connected in series. The method includes the following steps. First, the vehicle computer calculates the number of requirements of the variable structure series battery box and the number of requirements of the battery module. Thereafter, the sorting controller calculates the module score of all the battery modules and generates the battery module sorting result. Thereafter, the sorting controller activates the required number of battery modules according to the battery module sorting result and the number of requirements of the battery module. The sorting controller then calculates the battery box score and generates a battery box sorting result. Thereafter, the sorting controller controls at least one variable structure cascaded battery box within the final rank of the battery box sorting results to be placed in the hibernation mode.
