PEDESTRIAN DETECTING AND BEHAVIOR PATTERN TRACING METHOD OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL CONTROL SYSTEM

The present invention relates to a pedestrian detecting and behavior pattern tracing method of a system which controls a traffic light based on the result of detecting and tracing a crossing pedestrian by using a vison sensor. The pedestrian detecting and behavior pattern tracing method of the traffic signal control system includes the following steps: calculating a size (m) of distribution for changes in an x-axis and a y-axis from a brightness image I(x, y) of each pixel and a direction (&thgr;) for the I(x, y); drawing a histogram for a direction of a change in the brightness inside the cell; converting the histogram of the accumulated size and direction of the whole cells into one vector; performing normalization; normalizing feature vectors of a block by using a feature vector to obtain a feature vector of a HOG; detecting a pedestrian from an input image by using learnt data; and defining and tracing a behavior pattern of the detected pedestrian and determining whether or not the pedestrian is crossed.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
