The present invention relates to a composition for manufacturing a pressureless sintered silicon carbide ceramic material having high toughness and high hardness, to a silicon carbide material, and to a manufacturing method of a material. More specifically, provided are: a composition for manufacturing a silicon carbide material, comprising silicon carbide powder and Al_2O_3, AlN, Y_2O_3 as a sintering additive; and a manufacturing method of a silicon carbide material manufactured by using the same, and having a simple process by using a very excellent pressureless sintering method. The manufacturing method of the present invention is capable of condensing the silicon carbide through a pressureless sintering process, and is an economic process not required for sintering at high temperatures or a pressurizing and sintering process, while manufacturing the silicon carbide material having both high toughness and high hardness.
