The present invention relates to a method to build a tidal power generating device performing double-current generation with a single current generator and, more specifically, to a method to build a tidal power generating device performing double-current generation with a single current generator, capable of enabling double-current generation by opening and closing only a necessary floodgate by installing sub waterways in both sides of a waterwheel waterway including a single current generator to take water for power generation through one of the sub waterways and discharge the water through the other one connected to an existing discharge waterway. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method to build a tidal power generating device comprises: a waterwheel waterway including a generator and a waterwheel, and formed with a wall of the waterwheel waterway in both sides; a sub waterway formed with a wall of the sub waterway, getting away from the wall of the waterwheel waterway, and connected to the waterwheel waterway to allow water to flow therethrough; and multiple floodgates installed in one end and the other end of the sub waterway and the waterwheel waterway to take in or discharge the water by being opened and closed for rectification and double-current generation.
