The present invention relates to an apparatus for detecting an underwater object using a DGPS-based location information and a method therefor. The objective of the present invention is to provide a more correct position of the underwater object by raising the precision of location information and detecting the underwater object based on the location information. The present invention comprises the steps of: receiving first location information through a GPS signal; receiving first location correction information through a DGPS signal; generating second location information by correcting the first location information with the first location correction information and generating third location information by correcting the second location information with second location connection information previously drawn with information on latitude and longitude in a reference location and an altitude according to water level; and emitting a sound wave to the underwater, and receiving an echo sound for the emitted sound wave so as to display the underwater object or the location of topography on the basis of the third location information according to the echo sound.
