The present invention relates to a smart meter chip. The smart meter chip for a smart grid comprises: a metering unit measuring an amount of power; and a security authentication unit encrypting data of the measured power amount by using an elliptic curve code or performing object authentication. The smart meter chip is configured to be one chip so that a product operation in a smart grid environment may be safe.
