The present invention relates to a Western honey bee (Apis mellifera)-specific microsatellite marker, and to a method for determining a cousin relation between varieties of Western honey bees using the same. The microsatellite molecular marker for determining Western honey bee is discovered by figuring out differences in the polymorphism of each variety via a genotyping method involving next generation sequencing (NGS) from genome DNA of the Western honey bees. Such microsatellite molecular marker can ease the determination of varieties in a molecular level for the varieties to be spread out.
