SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING RESPONSE TO USER INPUT USING INFORMATION ABOUT STATE CHANGES PREDICTING FUTURE USER INPUT

A system and method for caching and using information about graphics and application state changes in an electronic device is disclosed. In an embodiment, the system and method use a model of user input from a touch sensor capable of sensing the position of a finger or object over the touch surface. In the electronic device, data representing the current user input is generated in the electronic device. The model of the user input is applied to the data representing the current user input to generate data reflecting the prediction of future user input events. Such data is used to identify at least one specific response associated with the predicted future user input event. Data useful for effecting graphical and application state changes is cached in the memory of the electronic device and such data includes data that reflects the particular response associated with the predicted future user input. The caching data is recovered from the memory of the electronic device and the data is used to effect a state change.
