The present invention relates to a method for phytoremediation of soils contaminated with heavy metals using Miscanthus sacchariflorus var., which is capable of eliminating heavy metals by planting Miscanthus sacchariflorus var. in a contaminated area. The method for phytoremediation of soil contaminated with heavy metals using Miscanthus sacchariflorus var. comprises the step of planting Miscanthus sacchariflorus var. in an area contaminated with heavy metals, such as cadmium (Cd), copper (Cu), lead (Pb), zinc (Zn), arsenic (As), etc. It was found that concentrations of all heavy metals in soil were considerably reduced and the amount of metal absorption of the plant was increased. The method according to the present invention may be advantageously used as a method for elimination of heavy metals in a contaminated area and a method for remediation of soil contaminated with heavy metals.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
