The present invention relates to an eco-friendly mat for greening a slope in a mining district and a method for stabilizing the greening of a slope in a mining district by using the same. Since the eco-friendly mat is made of a fabric produced by weaving a vegetable fiber thread, a slope becomes environmentally friendly and greened for a long time without maintenance costs through a process of enhancing the durability of the vegetable fiber thread. The eco-friendly mat for greening a slope in a mining district in accordance with the present invention comprises: a mat body produced by weaving a vegetable fiber thread as the warp and weft; and reinforcement layers formed on each surface of the warp and the weft by coating the same with a tensile strengthening agent and an antibacterial/antimicrobial agent. In the present invention, a diluted latex solution is used as the tensile strengthening agent and one or more components among copper sulfate, solvent-based silver colloids, and a food additive are used as the antibacterial/antimicrobial agent.
