The present invention relates to a surge protective device for a DC power line applying a multi-stage operating method of a gas discharge tube. More specifically, the present invention relates to a surge protective device for a DC power line applying a multi stage operating method of a gas discharge tube, capable of performing a protection operation against a surge based on a gas discharge tube (GDT), which is one of surge protective elements and at the same time, preventing damage caused by excessive current generated during a surge protection process. The surge protective device for a DC power line of the present invention comprises: an excessive voltage interrupter including a plurality of gas discharge units serially connected and operated according to an excessive voltage introduced by a surge generation; and a discharge voltage control unit connected in parallel with at least one of the plurality of gas discharge units. According to the present invention, provided is the surge protective device capable of efficiently blocking the excessive voltage generated by the surge by the sequential operations of the plurality of gas discharge tubes connected in parallel and an excessive current flowing to a surge protective device.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
