The present invention relates to a thermoelectric generation (TEG) apparatus for recovering waste heat from an engine of a vehicle which can reduce cooling loss by insulation and increase heat transfer efficiency by coating an insulation film which changes a thermal conduction property according to a temperature condition on a cylinder head and a piston. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the TEG apparatus for recovering waste heat from an engine of a vehicle comprises: an insulation film coated on an upper surface of a piston of an engine and a lower surface of a cylinder head; and a TEG element mounted on an upper surface of the coated insulation film to generate electricity by a difference in temperature between both ends thereof.
