NON-PLATIMUN-BASED ANTI-CANCER COMPOUNDS FOR USE IN TARGETED CHEMOTHERAPY

Non-platinum-based (NPB) anticancer compounds useful for targeted chemotherapy, such as those that have no or minimal toxicity and that produce an anticancer effect for the treatment of cancer and other diseases, are described herein. The compounds have the formula (I) Wherein A represents an aromatic center; At least one of R ^a and R ^b are electron transfer promoter as defined herein, e.g., NH _2, and; At least one of R ^c is a leaving group, such as halogen, as defined herein; The rest of the molecule is as defined herein. Pharmaceutical compositions, methods, applications, kits and commercial packages comprising the anti-cancer compounds are also described.
