The present invention relates to a food composition for relieving hangover, containing Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis or a culture liquid thereof as an active ingredient. Specifically, functional cream cheese is manufactured by using Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis having an ability to degrade ethanol and acetaldehyde. The functional cream cheese is preferably used as functional health food for relieving hangover, and in a broad sense, can minimize the accumulation of acetaldehyde capable of causing cancer in vivo, by degrading acetaldehyde which is an ethanol degraded product. In addition, the functional cream cheese is a cheese starter for lowering the unit cost compared with commercial cream cheese, and can be differentiated from cream cheese on the market.
