The present invention relates to a novel antibiotic peptide PN-5 isolated from pine needles. The present invention further relates to a use thereof. More specifically, the novel peptide, which has an amino acid sequence represented by sequence number 1 and is isolated from pine needles, has shown remarkable antifungal effects against a pathogenic strain and a strain causing food poisoning without cytotoxicity. Thus, the novel antibiotic peptide PN-5 isolated from pine needles can be useful as antibiotic pharmaceutical compositions, cosmetic compositions, agricultural pesticides, health foods, preservative compositions, and drugs.
