SET-TOP BOX FOR DISPLAYING MULTIPLE PROGRAMS ON A SCREEN

Provided is a setup box facilitating the selection of broadcast programs and a multi-view screen control by using a portable information terminal. The setup box is able to be operated in either a single screen mode or a multi-view screen mode. In case of the multi-view screen mode, TV video signals of broadcast programs of a first channel to a fourth channel are encoded into compressed video signals according to a digital TV standard after forming a single multi-view screen, thereby being transmitted to a television (400) by being converted into signals according to a DLNA standard. According to the present invention, the single multi-view screen wherein four broadcast programs are displayed on the single screen is displayed on a screen of the television. In addition, manipulation such as changing the channel can be performed by using the portable information terminal connected to an identical LAN network.
