The present invention relates to a lumbar discogenic pain animal model and a method of preparing the same. The lumbar discogenic pain animal model prepared in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention accelerates degeneration of an intervertebral disk, which proceeds naturally for a relatively long time, has similarities with symptoms identified by patients with acute or chronic pain, and can be used to research for induction time and duration time of the pain. Thus, the animal model prepared thereby is found to have similar symptoms and disease mechanisms of human lumbar discogenic pain unlike the conventional animal models. Therefore, the animal module can be used effectively in research for mechanisms of lumbar discogenic pain and developing treatment and medicines for treating the lumbar discogenic pain.
