The present invention relates to a compound obtainable by the reaction of an alkylating agent followed by condensation of a polyol having 3-4 hydroxyl groups, a dicarboxylic acid or a derivative thereof, an alkanolamine and a fatty acid. This compound is useful as a catcher in the process for non-sulphide ores containing silicates as impurities, in particular for reversed foam floating in phosphate ores.
