Provided are a method and an apparatus for providing authentication based on aggregated attribute in federated identity management. A federated identity system includes a user terminal, a service provider server, a first identity providing server, and a second identity providing server. The first identity providing server and the second identity providing server provide the attribute of the identity of each user. The user terminal uses the collected attributes to determine whether it is appropriate to provide a service to the user terminal.
