Disclosed are an account management system and an account management method for providing a discretionary universal account. The account management system for providing a discretionary universal account comprises: an account setting module to provide each customer with a universal account including a plurality of assent accounts for each asset type which can include different types of assets and a selling unit; an interface module to receive a management signal for managing assets included in the universal account; and a control module to perform a management process of the assets included in the universal account to correspond to the received management signal. When non-cash assets among assets included in the asset accounts are replaced with the selling unit based on a replacement signal outputted from a terminal of a first subject managing the universal account, the control module sells the non-cash assets using a predetermined selling protocol or sells the non-cash assets based on a selling signal from a second terminal of a second subject to perform an encashment process to deposit a selling price into the selling unit.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
