APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR EVALUATING THE PROGNOSIS AND THE NEED FOR CHEMOTHERAPY IN THE TREATMENT OF BREAST CANCER

The present invention relates to an apparatus for determining a prognosis of breast cancer and the use of chemotherapy, and to a method thereof. More specifically, the present invention relates to an apparatus capable of predicting therapeutic effects of chemotherapy and the prognosis required to determine a treatment plan for breast cancer using an outcome obtained by immunostaining progesterone receptor and Ki67 protein. The present invention further relates to a method thereof. The method for determining the prognosis of breast cancer requires lower costs compared to an existing counterpart, while being relatively accurate, thereby offering a standardized indicator to predict therapeutic effects of chemotherapy and the prognosis of breast cancer. Thus, the apparatus and the method can contribute to improving national health and welfare ultimately.
