STATIC VAR COMPENSATOR(SVC) SYSTEM AND OPERATING METHOD THEREOF

Disclosed is a static var compensator system (SVC system) for controlling reactive power inputted/outputted to a load. The SVC system according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a thyristor switched capacitor (TSC) which is connected in series from a system and controls reactive power provided to the load, and a plurality of filters which are connected in parallel to one end of the TSC and controls the reactive power with the TSC. So, the operation of the system can be carried out without backup equipment in case of the generation of errors.
