The present invention relates to an oral composition for inhibiting the formation of dental plaque, which comprises a cationic polymer and an anionic metal ion blocking agent. More specifically, the present invention relates to an oral composition, which enables a phosphate-based anion metal ion blocking agent and a polyquaternium-based cation polymer to form coacervate during the process of tooth brushing. The oral composition is attached to the surface of teeth, and enables the anion-based metal ion blocking agent as an ingredient of inhibiting the formation of dental plaque to be remained in the oral cavity after washing the same for a long period of time. The oral composition for inhibiting the formation of dental plaque can prevent the formation of dental plaque on the surface of the teeth in an effective manner, and can improve the foaming power while maintaining the smell and the taste of the toothpaste.
