The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, ameliorating, or treating obesity, containing an extract of halophyte Suaeda maritima (L.) Dumort. as an active ingredient. More specifically, the present invention relates to a composition for preventing, ameliorating, or treating obesity, containing an extract of Suaeda maritima (L.) Dumort. with concentration of 4-200 μg/ml.
