The present invention relates to a composition for enhancing immunoactivity comprising genipin or a derivative thereof, and use thereof. More particularly, the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition or food composition for enhancing immunoactivity, which comprises genipin or a derivative thereof. According to the present invention, genipin or a derivative thereof shows the effects of increasing the number of CD4+ T cells and CD8+ T cells and reducing the number of regulatory T cells (Treg). In addition, genipin or a derivative thereof is a naturally occurring substance, and thus can reduce the side effects occurring frequently in the case of conventional chemicals. Therefore, it is expected that genipin or a derivative thereof is useful as an active ingredient for a pharmaceutical composition or food composition for enhancing immunoactivity.
