Disclosed are efficient multimedia transmission method and apparatus for a UWB based ship area network. The efficient multimedia transmission method for a UWB based ship area network according to an aspect of the present invention comprises: a step of setting channel access priority according to predetermined importance of a video frame; a step of giving first mapping probability between queues having different priority with the video frame based on the channel access priority; a step of calculating second mapping probability in which the first mapping probability is relatively controlled based on the length of the queue which stands by to be transmitted and a predetermined maximum threshold value and a predetermined minimum threshold value; and a step of differentially arranging the video frame on the queue having the different priority based on a comparison result of the length of the queue which stands by to be transmitted, the maximum threshold value, and the minimum threshold value.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
