The present invention relates to a method for preparing porous titania powder and the porous titania powder prepared by the method. A method for preparing porous titania powder according to the present invention comprises: a step of forming droplets by a polar solution which comprises polymer particles and nanocolloids and consists of water as a polar solvent; a step of forming composite powder of titania-polymer particles by self-assembling by spraying the droplets through a nozzle of a spray dryer and injecting gas of high temperatures to the droplets, thereby evaporating water included in the droplets; and a step of performing plastic working of the composite powder of titania-polymer particles, thereby removing the polymer particles in the composite powder of titania-polymer particles to form the porous titania powder including pores. Accordingly, a method for preparing porous titania powder according to the present invention is capable of easily preparing particles not to a nanosize, but to a micrometer level by self-assembling titania nanoparticles having ultraviolet ray-blocking properties into a micrometer-sized porous powder. Therefore, a method for preparing porous titania powder according to the present invention is capable of preparing the porous titania powder into a UV blocking material which has no concern over harmfulness to the human body since it is difficult for the UV blocking material to penetrate into the skin, and there are few concerns that the UV blocking material expresses cancer although the UV blocking material is inhaled into a respiratory organ.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
