A method for detecting and tracking a human using plural depth cameras includes a step of receiving depth images of photographing each region allocated to plural depth cameras from each of the plural depth cameras, a step of obtaining 3D information for a region photographed by each of the plural depth cameras from each of the depth images, a step of synthesizing the depth images with a synthesis depth image based on the 3D information for each of the depth images, a step of detecting the head region of a human in the synthesis depth image, and a step of detecting the human based on the head region of the detected human.
