Systems, and devices for implementing different modes or personas of a wireless communication device that allow a wireless communication device to function as multiple devices corresponding to conditions and circumstances that may be defined by an enterprise. Operational modes or personas may be defined by a set of operational characteristics that may include user rights, device capabilities, capabilities enabled, and user preferences that may be selected by the enterprise. The automatic switching between modes / personas may be controlled via triggers based on any of the location, proximity, time, and context of the wireless communication device. Automatic switching of mode control capabilities may also be controlled via such triggers, thereby enabling the enterprise to limit the ability of users to override automatic mode / personas implemented in response to enterprise defined triggers.
