Disclosed are an operator for a spatial query and an energy-efficient query processing technique in a wireless sensor network database system. The query processing method in a wireless sensor network comprises the steps of: transmitting a query to the wireless sensor network from a base station belonging to the wireless sensor network; and collecting sensor data by performing the query in a sensor node that has received the query. The query is to define a spatial operator for identifying a geometric target space to perform the query, as a requirement for data collection that is expressed in a sensor network query language (SNQL).
