The present invention relates to a double-cladding optical fiber comprising: a core; a first clad formed to surround the core having a refractive index lower than that of the core; a second clad formed to surround the first clad, having a refractive index lower than that of the first clad; and at least three coupling rods extended along a longitudinal direction inside the first clad to increase a coupling efficiency of light traveling within the first clad into the core, having a refractive index lower than that of the first clad of which a cross-section is a ring shape. According to the double-cladding optical fiber and the fiber laser using the same, the supply of pumping light from the clad into the core along the longitudinal direction of the optical fiber at a short distance is able to efficiently be achieved.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
