The present invention relates to a method for calculating a simplified soft decision value to reduce operation complexity in a multiple input multiple output MMSE receiver. The method comprises: a first step of receiving symbols split by a splitter, a modulation order of orthogonal amplitude modulation, and noise power of the splitter; a second step of redefining the symbols; a third step of setting a soft decision boundary value group; a fourth step of determining a soft decision boundary value of a corresponding modulation order; a fifth step of determining a sign of the soft decision boundary value; and a sixth step of calculating a soft decision value of the corresponding modulation order.
