The present invention relates to a system to detect a buried and a leaked location of a polyethylene water pipe and, more specifically, relates to a system to detect the buried and the leaked location of the polyethylene water pipe wherein a buried location of a polyethylene pipeline is detected in a flowing direction of ultrasonic waves by coating an outer circumference of the polyethylene pipes with a surface wave medium layer and flowing the ultrasonic waves along the coated surface wave medium layer, and a leaked location detected by detecting a variation in refraction of the flowing ultrasonic waves when the polyethylene pipeline is damaged or cracked and a medium of the damaged portion changed due to the water leak; thereby the polyethylene pipe safely, conveniently, and stably performing maintenance of an underground utilities. To achieve the objective mentioned above, the system comprises: polyethylene pipes; a pressurization and welding inducing device to connect the polyethylene pipes into a pipeline structure; a medium spraying device to form a surface wave medium layer on an outer surface of the polyethylene pipeline; an ultrasonic oscillator to flow the ultrasonic waves to the surface wave medium layer; an ultrasonic wave detection sensor to detect a flow waveform of the ultrasonic waves; and a central control computer to output a detection signal as a waveform graph and to display a buried and a leaked location of the polyethylene pipes on a simulation pipe network map.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
