Disclosed are a multimedia transcoding method and a cloud multimedia transcoding system performing the same. The multimedia transcoding method according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving moving picture data; dividing the moving picture data to generate moving picture blocks; and transcoding the moving picture blocks. The steps are performed by a transcoding module. According to the present invention, a problem of increasing a processing time due to an increase in the number of moving picture frames can be solved by removing duplicate data.
