The present invention relates to a tester for an auto-tension control apparatus and a test method using the same. The auto-tension control apparatus of the present invention includes: a base frame which is selectively fixed; a first driving unit (120) contained in the base frame; a running pulley (130) which is moved in a straight line along the base frame by the first driving unit (120); and a first cable (W2) which has one end connected to a yoke (15) of the auto-tension control apparatus (10), and has the other end fixed to one side of the base frame selectively by being extended in an opposite direction after surrounding the running pulley (130). And since the running pulley (130) is moved in a straight line by the first driving unit (120), the yoke (15) of the auto-tension control apparatus (10) is withdrawn from the auto-tension control apparatus (10) and then tension is applied to the first cable (W2). According to the present invention, since a frame of the tester is divided into a first frame (100) and a second frame (200) having different height and a test cable is fixed by changing a direction thereof in the middle by the running pulley (140) comprised in the tester, the tester can achieve compactness while securing sufficient stroke for the yoke (15) to be withdrawn from the auto-tension control apparatus (10).
