The present invention relates to a vehicle rear view camera interface system using a smartphone and an operation method thereof. To this end, the present invention, in order to enable a user to see an image of a rear camera using a smartphone used as a navigation device without a video terminal like an additional monitor or navigation device, includes: the rear camera (20) photographing the rear image of a vehicle in real-time; an image compression-conversion and electricity control part (10) which is linked to the rear camera, and compresses the image after converting the image, and controls electricity; and the smartphone (30) which is linked to the image compression-conversion and electricity control part, and shows the rear image of the vehicle in real-time. The vehicle rear view camera interface system of the present invention enables the user to see the image of the rear camera using the smartphone used as the navigation device without the video terminal like the additional monitor or navigation device, and thus, can present a good image by satisfying various needs of consumers since quality and reliability of a product are remarkably improved.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
