According to the present invention, disclosed are a cane for a visually-impaired person, and a method for detecting an obstacle of a cane for a visually-impaired person. The cane for a visually-impaired according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a cane body; an angle sensor unit disposed in the cane body, and sensing a slope degree of the cane; an ultrasonic sensor unit disposed in one side end part of the cane, outputting ultrasonic waves for detecting an obstacle in an upper side, and sensing reflected ultrasonic waves; a rotation unit coupled with the ultrasonic sensor unit, and adjusting an output angle of an ultrasonic sensor; an alarming signal outputting unit disposed in the other side end part of the cane body, and outputting vibration signal and sound signal; and a control unit for controlling an output angle of the ultrasonic sensor unit through the rotation unit on the basis of a slope degree sensed through the angle sensor unit, and controlling alarming signal of the alarming signal outputting unit according to a result of sensing ultrasonic waves of the ultrasonic sensor.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
