Disclosed are a method and an apparatus of improving transmitting and receiving directivity in a long-range ultrasonic testing. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus of improving transmitting and receiving directivity in the long-range ultrasonic testing comprises: a phased array probe which has first and second channel converters arranged at an interval corresponding to a 1/4 wavelength of a center frequency of a guided wave pulse for the long-range ultrasonic testing; and a drive part which drives the first and second channel converters by providing an electric pulse having an opposite phase to the first and second channel converters, and delays an operation of one of the first and second channel converters arranged in a front based on an intended transmitting direction to as much as a time corresponding to the 1/4 cycle of the center frequency.
