The present invention relates to primary and secondary bacterial skin infections, and more particularly to the treatment of such infections with a pushidonic acid cream prepared using sodium pseudoside as a starter active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). The present invention relates to a skin improving cream containing fucidin acid formed in situ from sodium fucic acid as a starting material, wherein the sodium fucinate is converted into fushidic acid under an oxygen-free environment. The cream of the present invention has a higher shelf life stability and finer particle size of the API than conventional creams containing pseudodic acid.
