The present invention relates to an LED lighting system for remotely illuminating jewelry and a method for remotely illuminating jewelry using the same, capable of maximizing the beauty of jewelry with brilliant effects due to scattering, refraction and diffused reflection of the light, etc., by installing a remotely controllable LED lighting system to illuminate the LED light to the surfaces of the jewelry with multiple angles and multiple screens at desired time for desired period of time. More specifically, the LED lighting system for remotely illuminating jewelry includes: a body part; a jig formed in the body part; a jewel mounted on the jig; a light illuminating part; and a remote controlling part. The light illuminating part includes: a first case which is installed in the inside of the body part and the bottom of the first case is opened; an infrared radiation receiving part installed in the inside of the first case; a first PCB which is installed in the inside of the first case and connected with a plurality of LEDs and the infrared radiation receiving part; a second PCB which is connected with a microprocessor for controlling the operation of the LEDs and electrically connected with the first PCB; a battery for applying electrical power to the second PCB; and a cover to open and close the bottom of the first case. The remote controlling part operates the second case by receiving electrical power from an infrared radiation transmission part installed in the inside of the second case, and includes a plurality of control buttons which are provided in the second case.
