The present invention provides an apparatus to prevent damage to a valve for a cooling pipe of a stave blast furnace, and a damage prevention method thereof. The apparatus to prevent damage to a valve for the cooling pipe of a stave blast furnace comprises: an air supply part connected to a valve on one end of a cooling pipe installed in an inner side of a stave blast furnace, supplying air inside the cooling pipe to prevent high-temperature gas in the stave blast furnace from flowing into the cooling pipe; and a gas discharge part connected to a valve in the other end of the cooling pipe, supplying nitrogen to the inside of the cooling pipe to discharge the nitrogen through the damaged part of the cooling pipe, thereby preventing a reduced output caused by the air reduction in the stave blast furnace.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
