Synthesis of zero-valence nanoparticles of transition metal metals with a surface covalently modified by organic functional groups, including the restoration of aqueous solutions of salts of the corresponding metals with alkali metal borohydrides, followed by in situ interaction with aqueous or aqueous-organic solutions of arendiazonium salts to form covalent bonds between organic funcional groups and surface of nanoparticles.
