Catalytically active body for the synthesis of dimethyl ether from synthesis gas comprising a mixture of: (A) 70-95 wt% active with respect to methanol component selected from the group consisting of copper oxide, aluminum oxide, zinc oxide, an amorphous oxide. aluminum ternary oxide or mixtures thereof; (B) 5-30% by weight of acidic component comprising a zeolite material.; and (C) 0-10 wt% of at least one additive, wherein the sum of components (A), (B) and (C) is 100 wt%, wherein component (B) can be prepared by a process comprising the steps of:.. b1) preparing a mixture comprising one or more sources SiOi / or AlOi one or more cation-containing alkeniltrialkilammonievy RRRRNsoedineny as reagent for the formation of the guide structure, wherein R, r and independently of one another are alkyl; and Rs is alkylene; ib2) crystallizing the mixture obtained in step (b1), to obtain zeolitic materiala.2.
