The invention relates to equipment for dewatering of sludge in continuous operation, in particular to the design of belt filter presses. Belt filter press for dewatering sludge, comprising a drive, a receiving chamber for supplying sludge, a frame, a set of functional shafts mounted on the frame, the filter belts, adapted to tension on the functional shafts, devices for discharging the filtrate and wash water, and a tensioning device, comprising at least one tensioning shaft and at least one tensioning cylinder are connected with each other, wherein the shafts are offset vertically. Thus, the developed filter belt press for dewatering of sludge due to its reliability and the simplicity of its design due to the displacement shafts vertically allows for more efficient dewatering the treated sludge, improving the performance of a filter press in general, and improvement of economic efficiency of its operation due to uniform tensioning belts.
