FIELD: metallurgy.;SUBSTANCE: in the method the vanadium-bearing melted cast iron is supplied into the converter for extraction of vanadium and the temperature of cast iron is regulated in the range 1230-1250°C, the cast iron is melted with oxygen blowing at the constant flow rate 17000-25000 nm3/min, and also tapping of steely pig iron and extraction of vanadium-bearing slag from the converter are performed. At the first stage of melting oxygen is blown and lime is added for regulation of alkalinity of slag which amounted 2-4, the converter is also added by scale amounting 15-20 kg/t of iron, at the second stage it is blown and scale is added in the amount 5-18 kg/t of iron, and at the third stage it is blown and the lime is added in the amount 0.5-2 kg/t of iron.;EFFECT: invention allows to exclude corrosion concerning materials of the furnace lining and simultaneously to perform dephosphorisation and extraction of vanadium from the vanadium-bearing melted cast iron, and also to reduce amount of iron in vanadium-bearing slag.;7 cl, 3 ex
