FIELD: medical equipment.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of medical devices on the basis of pyrolytic carbon and can be used for prosthetic cardiac valves. Surface of pyrolytic carbon-based articles, for example, elements of artificial cardiac valve based on carbon glass ceramic, are saturated with 5-7 % alcohol solution of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane in an ultrasonic bath for 5-10 minutes and then subjected to heat treatment at a temperature of 250-400 °C for 20-30 minutes. Stages of saturation and thermal treatment are repeated up to 3 times. Roughness and open porosity of samples are reduced by approximately 30 %.;EFFECT: technical result: higher quality of articles achieved by reducing surface roughness and porosity.;4 cl, 1 tbl, 2 dwg
