A method for coupled image representation of at least one in the throat region of a patient medical instrument introduced in the context of a cardiological examination or treatment with the following steps:a) receiving a 3d - volume image of the heart region,b) receiving a plurality of 2d - angio programs of the heart region, wherein in at least one of 2d - being an angiogram the at least one instrument and is shown in the present angio various by means of contrast medium injection marked-off cardiological vessels (p) are visualized,c) joining the programs angio to a 2d - being an angiogram, taking into account of movements of a determinable for the examination or treatment of the patient support is used,d) performing a registration of the 2d - angiogram with the 3d - volume image ande) superimposed representation of the 2d - angiogram with the 3d - volume image on a visualization plane in particular on a screen.
