The corrosion inhibiting composition comprising a sol - gel - material, wherein the sol - gel - material contains at least one corrosion-inhibiting silane compound,the at least one corrosion-inhibiting silane compound the general formula (i): $(R1O)$_{3 - x}(R¹)_xSi - (ch₂)_n-Ch₂-R² (I), whereinthe substituents r¹ may be identical or different and are selected from the group comprising hydrogen, alkyl, acyl or aryl,the substituent r² a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic radical is,x is equal to 0, 1 or 2, andn is an integer between 0 and 10, and whereinthe sol - gel material from alkoxysilane compounds selected from the group consisting of tetraalkoxysilane, aryl trialkoxysilane alkenyl trialkoxysilane, glycide oxyalkyl trialkoxy silane silane; aminoalkyl trialkoxy silane; and (meth) acrylic trialkoxy silane, and mixtures thereof, is produced.
